Everyone has been doing reviews on the regular blade Aegis but I hadn't seen any that were that helpful for the tanto. I am absolutely impressed. Strong, sharp, sick-looking assisted folder. Very lightweight, great clip design, and it seems to be very strong even without the metal handle inserts. This will be my EDC for a while :)

I live overseas and so having been out of America for several years I wanted to get back into camping and outdoors life so I wanted to get a well made American knife. So I saw the Aegis Tanto at my PX last year and I bought it on a hunch. I have to say I have not been disappointed with it. I've had it for 10 months now and I have used it for everything from cutting small trees/bush to cutting steak. It has retained it's edge very well. The only quibble I have is that the pocket clip is suppose to be able to be switched from left to right side. But I have no idea how to get that feature to work. Oh well good thing it's on the right side since I'm right handed. BTW it's not American made but assembled in America, but the quality still stands.

I had a SOG knife many years ago that I had given to a Iraqi counterpart.
I have always regreted that gift.I am very happy with the quality of this knife.It was razor sharp right out of the box and the quality was outstanding.This is my everyday carry knife and has replaced my CRKT Ryan which gave me 6 years of hard service.SOG has really improved their product and would recomend this knife.In a world of $100+ folders this blade is just as good as Emersons and other high end brands.Save yourself some money and buy this knife it will give you years of reliable service.This knife is perfect for the average Joe.
